Day 1
Arrive in Ulaanbaatar, and transfer to hotel. City sightseeing
tour including a visit to Gandan Monastery, with its huge
gold-plated Buddha, a symbol of Mongolian national pride and
cultural revival. See the monks chanting, spin some prayer
wheels and view the intricately embroidered thankas. In the
afternoon transport to the railway station for a train to
the Dornogobi aimag.
Day 2
Arrive in Sainshand soum, Dornogobi province and stay Shand
hotel. You can visit the provincial museum, displaying the
heritage of the Gobi people, and the Danzanravjaa Museum.
Drive to a tourist camp. Overnight in Ger Camp.
Day 3
Morning meditation-Meet with meditation teacher and introduce
whole programs.
After lunch visit to the museum of Danzanravjaa, a well-known
educator of Mongolia of the 19th century was established in
1991. The Home-museum is a large museum which has more than
1200 archeological finds related to the biography and works
of the great writer born in the Mongolian Gobi in culture,
arts and religious rites. The museum has precious rare exhibits
which left from the Mongolian nomads as well as historic precious
exhibits of other Asian countries, such as Japan, China, India
and Tibet, related to history of two centuries ago.
Visit to a nomadic family. Camel riding. Explore nomadic way
of living, milking a mare, tea making. See traditional way
of making Mongolian milk vodka. Taste the pure natural dairy
products. Evening meditation. Overnight in Ger Camp.
Day 4
Morning meditation – Body, breath cleansing and relaxation.
After breakfast visit to Khamryn Monastery. The monastery
was founded by Lord Priest Danzanravjaa in 1821; he established
not only Buddhist temple but also school, library and display
temple and conducted his activity. The first theatre of nomadic
Mongolians was founded right here. They were completely destroyed
during the Repression period in 1938. Now Khamryn Monastery
was restored in 1990.
Warship temple, warshiped since long ago by the dwellers of
the Gobi, 1998.
After lunch visit to the meditation caves. These 108 caves
where Buddhist lamas formerly studied and meditated in isolation.
See ancient petrified trees, and go on a picnic-walk through
hills strewn with dinosaur bones.
Evening meditation. Overnight in tents.
Day 5
Morning and afternoon have a meditation in the caves.
Visit to the Saxaul gorves. Caves formerly inhabited by meditating
hermit lamas. Visit saxaul forest of Gobi, see the meditation
cave of great meditators of ancient yoga and order picnic
meals on sand dunes. To the north of the monastery were a
series of caves where monks would practice yogic exercises
and meditate in isolation for 108 days at a time, hardening
their bodies whilst expanding their physical and spiritual
powers. In the evening visit to the ruins of the Saran-Khokhoo
Theatre, Mongolia’s first permanent theatre building.
Overnight in tents.
Day 6
After morning meditation transport to the railway station
for a train to the Ulaanbaatar city. In the evening, see a
performance by a Mongolian folklore group.
Day 7
After breakfast transfer to the airport.
