Day 1
Transport to the railway station for a train to the Dornogobi
aimag. Drive to the Ger Camp. There is no program for the
rest of the day. Overnight in Ger Camp.
Day 2
This tour centers on the life and works of the influential
19th century Mongolian educationist, painter, poet and scholar
D. Danzanravjaa, including a visit to his former seat at Kamar
Monastery.
In additional you can visit several caves where Buddhist lamas
formerly studied and meditated in isolation, see ancient petrified
trees, and go on a picnic-walk through hills strewn with dinosaur
bones.
Day 3
After breakfast visit to the museum of Danzanravjaa, a well-known
educator of Mongolia of the 19th century was established in
1991. The Home-museum is a large museum which has more than
1200 archeological finds related to the biography and works
of the great writer born in the Mongolian Gobi in culture,
arts and religious rites. The museum has precious rare exhibits
which left from the Mongolian nomads as well as historic precious
exhibits of other Asian countries, such as Japan, China, India
and Tibet, related to history of two centuries ago.
Visit to a Gobi herbing household and try your hand at riding
their camels and horses, or taste their traditional (airag
and khoormog). It is also possible to organize short camel
or horseback excursions through the nearby sand dunes. You
will have the opportunity to see camel races, pride of the
Gobi people.
In Sainshand you can visit the provincial museum, displaying
the heritage of the Gobi people. Go to the railway station
for a train to the Ulaanbaatar city.
