Bulgan Aimag is a land of taiga forest rich in wild animals, the forests that cover northern Mongolia and continue into the vastness of Siberia. Bulgan Aimag has an area of 48,700 square kilometers, with an estimated population of 63,300 inhabitants. The administrative center is Bulgan, situated in the Basin of Orkhon River, at an altitude of 1,208 meters above sea level and 318 kilometers from Ulaanbaatar.

Extinct Volcano of Uran Uul Monument
The reserve occupies a territory of 8 square kilometers, with an elevation of 1.686 meters above sea level. It has been protected since 1965, and today enjoys the status of “Natural Monument”. On the top of the extinct volcano is a crater, 500 to 600 meters wide and 50 meters deep, filled with a small “crater lake” about 20 meters in diameter. There are green woods in the center of the Crater Lake. It is a really fascinating mountain. Red Deer, Argali, Wild Boar, Siberian Ibex, Ruddy Shelduck and Duck are found in this area.

Largest river in Mongolia
The Selenge river drains into Lake Baikal in Siberia. The Selenge river is 992 kilometers long, of which 593 kilometers flows through Mongolia territory.
Baikal Sturgeon, Taimen, Lenok, Sig, Umber, Pike, Siberian Roach, Ide, Bull Ide, Golden Carp, Mirror Carp, Amur Catfish, Burbot and River Perch are the main fish in the Selenge river. The Selenge river basin is important foe arable farming.

Ruins of Uigur trading center
The Bai Bulag ruins were a trade center of the Uigar people in the 9th and 10th century. Later, Mongolia built a monastery inside the wall, so it is called Bai Bulag Sum (monastery).

Erdenet city
This city has at area of 84 square kilometers, with an estimated population of 76.500 inhabitants.
Erdenet is the leading company on Mongolia in terms of I production and foreign currency earnings.
